“People are changed, not by coercion or intimidation, but by example.”
Great job today! I have to admit that I am very proud to coach each and every one of our members. As I watched one of our classes go after this workout, three things came to mind.
Perspiration – everyone is in a battle to conquer the workout to the best of their ability
Inspiration – energy in the room was very positive and made me want to workout
Zero Intimidation – members supporting each other and cheering each others efforts
I love that the membership is like a family and everyone is so welcoming to new people. I guess when people endure hardship together, it creates a strong bond of friendship.
Today’s Workout:
“Jump Dead Jerk”
20 Tire Jumps(m-24″/f-20″)
15 Deadlifts(m-body weight/f-2/3 body weight)
10 Dumbbell Push-Jerks(m-40lbs/f-25lbs)
5 rounds
I am so lucky and blessed to have the opportunity to workout at HAF. I almost didn’t join because I felt inferior to all the superior athletes. But it is these superior athletes who push me, inspire me and encourage me everyday to work hard and train hard. I consider everyone in the room to be superior, not in their abilities, but in their kindness and generosity to encourage and teach. I can’t imagine working out anywhere else.
I second that!
I love our Hardass family!
People actually shouldn't be intimidated by the crazy people in the room because everyone starts somewhere. New people and visitors should realize that most of the "superior" athletes were merely average when they started 1 or 2 years ago. HAF taught me that everyone can become better if you're willing to stay committed to the process. Just don't quit.
I double fist two beers that too!
