Yoshi had a chance to train at Chikara CrossFit in Tokyo. The addiction travels with us wherever we go. Even overseas.
Isn’t it awesome when you as an athlete can pick your own poison. Choose 2 out of the 3. A seven-minute rest period between each heat will begin once the last person is done.
Workout of the Day:
“2 out of 3”
7 Barbell Front Squats(m-135lbs/f-95lbs)
10 Burpees
3 rounds
…..
1000m Row for time
…..
300 Double-Under Jump Rope for time
it takes a special kind of person to pick his or her own demise. one would think having a choice of poison would lessen the gut punch that is CrossFit intensity but that assumption couldn't be further from the truth. No matter where you turn from its going to hurt, but it hurts so good.
on the bright side, if you're like me ,and put off learning the double under, having a choice in programing seems like finding five bucks in your pants pocket after you've spent your last dollar. I quickly realized, though, that their really is no silver lining in rowing 1,000 meters or doing like a zillion single or a trillion double unders before or after a heavy met-con type WOD. I definitely liked having a super intense mover and shaker WOD in the mix of things.Bottom line though is that I like having these choices. We definitely maximized work potential across broad time and modal domains…Plus you know, no double unders… Cheers!
Thanks Yoshi for stopping by Chikara CrossFit. Hopefully I can come visit you guys in Hawaii again soon.
