“If you don’t set a baseline standard for what you’ll accept in life, you’ll find it’s easy to slip into behaviors and attitudes or a quality of life that’s far below what you deserve.”

We have been going over the “gamer standard” and “room standard” for the kettlebell swing. Just to clarify, the top photo is an ideal position but not necessarily the position we want to see all our athletes in. If you shoot for the “gamer standard” it is like walking to the very edge of a steep cliff, you must have the proper experience, skill and strength to walk that line because you are one tic from going over to the dark side. If you plan to compete at a CrossFit sectional, regional or Games you may be required to perform at this level. However, for our room standard, we would prefer to see most of our athletes in the form of bottom photo. Biceps alongside your ears and kettlebell tilted to about 12:30 or 1 o’clock instead of straight up and down 12 o’clock.
